Functional but Quirky

Overall, I am satisfied with this button maker. It has its quirks and has to be lined up in a certain way to make the buttons correctly, but it does work. My sister and I have successfully make like 200 buttons with it.

Great price but not worth the stress.

Beamnova button maker 75mm must have been a defective. 3 out if 10 buttons would come out ok. But I had to literally take me time aligning the base to top before pulling lever. Even then a button dropped on floor and it fell apart. The instructions seem easy to assemble as well as the YouTube videos. But one side of the base I couldn’t get to the pin. The base that slides left and right is unstable. When pulling lever down on the button the first base it is not adhering the metal back to the clear film. Nor to the plastic backing.

Double check materials

This is the first button making machine I’ve ever used and it took me a while to figure out how to use it properly. It got jammed three times before I figured out the clear film was stuck together thus was too thick for the press to work. Got a hand at it after a while and haven’t jammed it since. Just have to make sure none of the metal buttons or clear film is stuck together

Trial and Error

We had a lot of trial and error with this machine, for 3 days... we finally got it to work, but we needed to adjust the coils underneath, adjust the metal pieces in the back so the switch would move, and the main problem was that your image needed to be slightly smaller than the mylar (clear rounds) in order for it to crimp down on the button correctly. We use a hole punch for our buttons and purchased a 1 3/4 size to have it work correctly. Anything smaller and it won't hold the plastic backing to the metal. I'm leaving this at a 3 star rating for now because we are still needing to adjust it to where we need it over and over and from how much supplies we wasted to try to get it to work before we found what works for ours. They have good customer service, but it's kind of a chore to find their contact info.

Great once you figure it out!

I read a lot of the reviews to finally figure out how to make this work - attaching a video for reference.

Essentially, on the first press with aluminum, paper, and plastic, you don’t want the posts to line up with the holes on the press. On the second press, you do. Another tip, don’t double press the aluminum backers - if you got it wrong the first time, you’ve already changed the shape and it won’t give you a clean button on the second attempt (it will be an irregular circle, as seen in some reviews). Luckily you’ve got 999 others to try and get it right.

Make sure your paper is slightly smaller than your plastic topper. I ordered a 2” circular hole punch which is perfect for the size I got (44mm), about 1/8” smaller than the recommended paper size.

And lastly, just because I would hate for you to do something as stupid as me, be careful when you unwrap this. I went to grab what I thought must be a part of the press to assemble it, but it was the cutter and I sliced my finger open. Ouch.
